Step out

I would like to step out of my heart,
climb the silences filling the sky
to the home of the glittering star,
standing tall like a city of white.

Watching softly my heart as it whirls
out of me, on its beautiful path –
pale blue dot that resembles the Earth,
spinning orbits of love round the sun.

I will follow the sky through the dark
as it blushes, embracing the dawn…
I would gladly step out of my heart –
and perhaps I would feel less alone.

For a moment as brief as a life,
every beat would be happy and strong.
Stars are promises burning the skies
to remind us of where we belong.

All I have is an ocean of words
and the emptiness, far and away.
The horizon, a delicate bird
circles over the mountain and fades.

I could write you a poem, I could write you a song.
Just to get you to hold me, just to feel I belong.
All we have is an ocean and a silence too long.
