It was age-old performance, the dancing of veils \u2013
\nthe parade, in a show, in a dream, in disguise\u2026
\nWe imagined each other as somebody else,
\nwe pretended those four-lettered beautiful lies.<\/p>\n
And perhaps you arrived, and perhaps I was wrong \u2013
\nto the landscape of Rilke we added a kiss.
\nIt was more than poetic to seek and belong,
\nit was sacrilege, death, resurrection and bliss.<\/p>\n
It was none of those things\u2026 And a universe more.
\nWhat you meant, what I felt, how the symmetry slides.
\nAnd the knowledge of love is a punishing door
\nwhen its anguish opens and closes inside.<\/p>\n
The illusion of things is a dangerous fruit;
\nwe imagine until the horizons explode.
\nDamn the plot \u2013 it was not meant to be, but it should!
